Dear Parents,Thank you for considering Miss Sarah's Schoolhouse as an option for your preschool and childcare needs. The Schoolhouse is a fully licensed Family Childcare Home (FCCH), that provides Preschool and Childcare programs for children from birth through age 7. It is run by Ms. Sarah Prentice, and has been in business since 2006.
The name "Schoolhouse," really describes the environment of a Family Childcare Home. The setting is small and cozy. Children feel welcomed and "at home." Each child is recognized as an important individual, every day they come to school. Parents can communicate daily with teachers, as much and as often as they need to. Learning is based on the individual needs of each student, at every age and stage of their development. The children learn from each other, because the class is a combination of different ages.
The most important aspect of Family Childcare, I feel, is that children can develop strong trust and friendships with their caregivers, and with the other children at school. When so much is changing so fast in our society, Family Childcare gives kids a stable place to be where they feel safe, respected, relaxed and ready to learn.
